Recently, our Marine team placed some truly festive risks:

• Wine shipments in bulk tanks, ready for bottling and distribution worldwide. This Cargo policy carried a premium of around £10,000, with an impressive turnaround: same-day indication and a full quote-to-bind process completed in just three days.
• A toy warehouse with global shipping requirements, insured under a Stock Throughput renewal at a premium of approximately £20,000.

Leisure: Boats, chalets, and holiday cheer

Our Leisure team insures some wonderfully festive-named boats, including Christmas Rose, Holly and Snow Flurry – some of which are covered under our specialist Liveaboard Product.

We also recently insured a festive chalet, offering seasonal activities for residents. Despite its non-standard construction, our underwriters turned the referral around in just three minutes, ensuring a smooth experience for the broker and client.

Construction: Keeping winter roads safe

Winter brings unique challenges for contractors, and we’re here to help. One recent renewal involved a gritting and snow clearance contractor, with great coverage that included Environmental Impairment Liability, Financial Loss, and Efficacy – providing robust protection for essential winter services.

We also see risks where festive activities complement core operations, such as electrical contractors who install Christmas lights alongside their usual work. Our flexible approach ensures these seasonal extras are properly covered.

Our Specialist Commercial team has been busy quoting for festive-themed businesses, including a “Winter Wonderland” style event with food and drink stalls.
